Brendan Tuohy

Tenor Brendan Tuohy is a native of the Pacific Northwest but quickly making a name for himself in the singing world. Tuohy currently lives in Houston where he is a studio Aatist with Houston Grand Opera. Before moving to Houston, he spent two seasons with Portland Opera as a studio artist.
While with Portland Opera, Tuohy performed such roles as Albert Herring in Albert Herring, Remendado in Carmen, Gastone in La Traviata, Prologue in The Turn of the Screw, Pane/Nature in La Calisto and Borsa in Rigoletto. Also in the fall of 2008, Tuohy performed Lensky’s Aria from Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin and as a soloist in Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony with the Oregon Symphony.
Tuohy completed his academic training at the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music with a masters degree in vocal performance and completed one year of an artist diploma in opera.
Future engagements include the Tchaplitsky in Tchaikovsky’s The Queen of Spades with Houston Grand Opera, Martin in Copland’s The Tender Land with Vashon Opera, Ulrich Eisslinger in Cincinnati Opera’s production of Wagner’s Die Meistersinger, and Dvořák’s Requiem with the Grant Park Music Festival.
