Friends of the Oregon Symphony

The Friends of the Oregon Symphony is the primary volunteer arm of the Oregon Symphony Association.  Its purpose is to support the Symphony by volunteering time in support of its programs and by fundraising to support its financial health.

Volunteer opportunities include:

  • Serving as docents to prepare students for their full orchestra Youth Concert experience
  • Ushering at the Youth Concerts
  • Conducting Back Stage Tours of the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall
  • Providing office support when needed
  • Participating in fundraising projects
  • Attending fun, informative social activities

Gregory Plays!!

You know him as Oregon Symphony’s Resident Conductor, but Portland has yet to meet Gregory Vajda the clarinetist and composer! A very special evening as Gregory is joined by violist Charles Noble and pianist Susan Smith and they play Schubert, Mozart and Vajda. Eat, drink and be merry at the Clarks' gorgeous Dunthorpe home.

Wine Tasting and Music!

Marilyn De Oliviera, Assistant Principal cello, and Trevor Fitzpatrick, cello, pair their favorite duets with wine. An evening of music, cheese and a wine tasting and discussion led by Dr. Cliff Deveney at the Deveneys' Eastmoreland home.
