Portland, OR - The Friends of the Oregon Symphony present “Symphony of Fashion,” a fashion show and luncheon Thursday, Oct. 3, 2002, at the Waterfront Marriott, 1401 Naito Parkway in Portland.
Julie Emery, Portland television news anchor, will emcee the event. A highlight of the show will be a special appearance by Katie Harman, 2002 Miss America, singing “God Bless America” and Puccini's “O Mio Babbino Caro.”
Fashions are by Signe, and Angel and Bob Mackie. They are orchestrated by Joy of Joy's Uptown Style.
Winners of the raffle, “Travel to the Fashion Capital of America,” will travel to New York City for a stay of four days and three nights.
Other prizes include gifts from Joy's, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Whole Foods.
A Silent and Live Auction will feature metal sculpture by Brent Lawrence, Jewelry by Jill Brahms, Stix from Twist, golf, ski and coastal vacations, and many more items.
The silent auction begins at 10:30 a.m.; festivities begin at 11:30 a.m.; and the luncheon begins at noon.
The purpose of this event is to raise funds on behalf of the Oregon Symphony. Most of the funds support music education for young people.
