FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Portland, Ore. … All-event tickets to the Portland-hosted 2005 State Farm U.S. Figure Skating Championships will also be sold through the Oregon Symphony Ticket Office beginning Dec. 1, 2003, through a community partnership which provides a cash contribution to the Symphony for every ticket sold, according to Director of Marketing for Season Development Holly J. Kellar. The 2005 State Farm U.S. Figure Skating Championships are scheduled for Jan. 9-16, 2005, at Portland’s Rose Garden Arena and Memorial Coliseum.
“This prestigious skating event is a natural fit for the Symphony,” said Kellar. “Research shows that we have tremendous crossover in our audiences, so many of our patrons are already planning to purchase tickets to the skating championships when they come to Portland. The convenience of being able to purchase their tickets through us, plus the knowledge that we will receive a cash contribution from the Championships for every ticket sold, will be an added incentive.”
“This is a “win-win” marketing strategy that helps us market all-event tickets while providing a meaningful revenue benefit to a valued community organization,” said Mike Rosenberg, managing director of the 2005 U.S. Figure Skating Championships. “We receive the benefit of the Symphony’s significant marketing resources while they achieve a cash contribution that could easily climb into the thousands of dollars.”
The Symphony will sell all-event tickets until single tickets for the Championships go on sale in the fall of 2004, said Rosenberg.
