FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SINGLE TICKETS FOR ALL OREGON SYMPHONY CONCERTS
GO ON SALE MONDAY, AUGUST 16

Portland, Ore. … The general public will have its first opportunity to purchase single tickets to all Oregon Symphony concerts when they go on sale at 9 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 16. However, subscribers to one of the Symphony’s various concert series, including Classical, Pops, Front Row Center and Kids Concerts have exclusive access to all Symphony concert tickets before they are made available to non-subscribers. “My advice for anyone wanting to attend any performance this season is to make your purchase as soon as possible, whether you buy in person, by phone or online,” says Sandra Snyder, Director of Marketing for Audience Development. “We broke all previous records on ticket sales last season and anticipate that we’ll continue that trend this coming year.”

Before Aug. 16, Symphony subscribers can buy tickets for all Symphony performances at the discounted price available only to subscribers, including the Special concerts such as Itzhak Perlman’s solo recital in Jan. 2005. “This year, we expect to sell all tickets within days of Aug. 16 for a number of concerts, especially the Perlman recital,” says Snyder. She also anticipates that the Gospel Christmas, Yuletide Celebration and the first two concerts of the Classical series will sell out. In order to insure ticket availability and good seats, Snyder encourages anyone interested in attending Symphony concerts during the 2004-05 season to purchase a series subscription now.

In addition to regular subscription sales, this year Symphony audiences can avail themselves of a new opportunity to purchase their own custom-designed subscription series through a special one-week-only online purchase program, from Friday, Aug. 6 through Friday, Aug. 13. Subscribers who purchase subscriptions online will also be able to buy single tickets to all Symphony concerts, including the Special Performances, before single tickets go on sale to the general public on Aug. 16.
