Portland, Ore. … The Oregon Symphony is currently accepting nominations for the 2006-2007 Patty Vemer Music Educator of the Year Award, which will honor those who have made significant contributions to the field of music education and community, and who have served as a source of inspiration to their students.
Each year, the Oregon Symphony recognizes excellence in Music Education through the Patty Vemer Music Educator of the Year Award. The award was created in memory of Patty Vemer, an inspirational leader in music education at the Oregon Symphony for over 13 years.
Nomination packets must be received by Friday, March 16, 2007. In order to be considered, the packet must include:

The recipient of the award will be recognized on Monday, April 30, 2007, at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall during the Oregon Symphony’s classical concert “Different Strokes.” The recipient will be presented with a framed certificate and a prize of $1,000 to assist in their music education efforts.
