At this moment …

We would find Jennifer watching Regis & Kelly. "Everything in my life has to do with TV," she explains. "I even practice to TV with the sound muted. When I was in college I had a lot of classes and not enough time to practice, so I'd sandwich watching TV with my practicing."

On the CD player …

Jennifer has all Michael Jackson's albums and is currently listening to his "Off the Wall." Other faves are Shakira's "La Tortura" and Oscar de Leon's "Lloraras." Jennifer is also pleasantly obsessing on Beethoven's Violin Concerto performed by William Preucil, concertmaster of the Cleveland Orchestra. "It's an unbelievably musical performance."

In the kitchen …

"I grew up eating in a car," says Jennifer. "I was always going to or from a lesson and wasn't home much." Since she's always been on the go, cooking is a new skill for Jennifer. She enjoys preparing simple meals like broccoli with melted cheese and any dish with seafood.

On the music stand …

Bartók's Viola Concerto. "It is not possible to walk down a conservatory hallway in the U.S. without hearing the opening being played." Jennifer also enjoys finding works by Latin American composers for viola. "My graduate recital included works by Granados and Piazzolla, among others."

And on the nightstand …

"US Weekly is a must." Jennifer's more serious literary taste includes biographies, and she keeps up her Spanish with The Everything Spanish Book and various other Spanish language workbooks.

Before you left …

Jennifer, a confirmed shutterbug, would show you her photo albums. She would also show you her extensive General Hospital collection of memorabilia that includes pictures from her trip to the 2000 Daytime Emmys. Since she's still discovering Portland, Jennifer would also take you back to Cleveland to go salsa dancing. "My friend Raffaela and I love the Moda Nightclub. They make a mean cuba libre."
