Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Value Statement

We recognize deep-rooted economic, social, cultural, racial, gender, physical, and other barriers to participation and access in the arts. As a leading performing arts organization in the region, we commit to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion – for those we serve, through our programming, and across our leadership and workforce. We are dedicated to making the Oregon Symphony a symphony for all.

We embrace the inherent richness that comes with a diverse, equitable, and inclusive organization. We believe that nurturing a broad range of perspectives allows us to think differently, listen more intently, and connect more deeply with a larger, more diverse community. The arts are an expression of our shared humanity, and the Oregon Symphony welcomes you to share in this experience.

We commit to:

  • Developing programming that engages people from all walks of life, both on and off the stage
  • Fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment for a broad range of audiences and communities to experience the Oregon Symphony
