Pacific Youth Chior (PYC) has become a cultural resource that changes lives through high-level choral artistry in an open, joyful, and nurturing environment. With 20 years experience providing choral education, Pacific Youth Choir is known for the enthusiasm and passion it provides young people while sharing outstanding choral artistry. Since inception Pacific Youth Choir has become a highly regarded youth choir in the Pacific Northwest, recognized for quality of musicianship, serious intent of musical training and joyful dedication to musical performance and community building. Our Portland performance season attracts audiences to hear singing that reflects a range from the delight of beginning singersthrough a full cultural and historic range of choral music as the singers mature.

Founded in 2003, Pacific Youth Choir includes singers in 10 choirs and free Neighborhood after school choir programs. PYC, in residence at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral has gained a reputation for quality that leads to regular collaborations with Oregon’s top musical organizations including: Oregon Symphony Orchestra, Metropolitan Youth Symphony, Oregon Ballet Theater, Whitebird Dance, Portland Chamber Orchestra, Trinity Choir, and Thomas Lauderdale and Pink Martini in performances and recordings. This year we are excited to be rebuilding and look forward to co-creating beauty with many young people while serving our communities with messages of hope, honor, remembrance, and beauty.

PYC has been honored to perform at 7 American Choral Directors Association conventions including 2008 Vancouver, BC, the 50th Anniversary National ACDA Convention in Oklahoma City in 2009, two NW ACDA conventions in Seattle, with two PYC choirs at the Portland NW ACDA convention in 2018, and in Spokane, WA in 2022.
