Amanda Grimm joined the Oregon Symphony as principal violist in 2022. Prior to her appointment, she served as principal violist of the Elgin Symphony, the Canton Symphony and Orchestra Iowa and was invited to perform as guest principal with the Chicago Philharmonic, the Illinois Philharmonic, Chicago Opera Theater and the Erie Philharmonic. She has also performed as a substitute musician with the Milwaukee Symphony, the Lyric Opera of Chicago and ProMusica Chamber Orchestra. An active chamber musician, she was a member of the KAIA String Quartet for five years and has been heard on WFMT Chicago’s ‘Dame Myra Hess Concert Series,’ on APM’s ‘Performance Today’ and in myriad concert halls both in the United States and abroad.
