Kayleigh Miller joins the Oregon Symphony for the 2021-2022 season after freelancing in the Seattle area. She previously was a member of the San Antonio Symphony and is a current member of the Pacific Northwest Ballet Orchestra and Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra. She received her B.M. from the New England Conservatory and her M.M. from the Eastman School, where she studied with Carol Rodland and Roger Tapping. She is additionally passionate about contemporary music, and has participated in the Lucerne Festival and Ensemble Moderne summer workshops. She has also performed with the New World Symphony, Cincinnati Symphony, Fort Worth Symphony, National Arts Centre Orchestra, Seattle Opera, and Seattle Symphony.
In addition to her musical studies, Kayleigh holds certifications in Body Mapping, Pilates, yoga, and kettlebells, and works with both musicians and non-musicians to move better and more pain-free. She started her blog, The Musician's Collective, over 7 years ago, and has over 60,000 annual readers. She presents masterclasses on wellness and injury prevention for colleges, youth orchestras, and professional ensembles, and cohosts the musician's health podcast, "Beyond the Practice Room." She is additionally a new board member of the American Viola Society. In her spare time, she enjoys strength training, hiking, and spending time with her two chihuahua mixes, Milo and Mortimer.
