Violinist Lisbeth Carreno joined the Oregon Symphony, her hometown orchestra, at the beginning of the 2017/18 Season. A member of the Virginia Symphony Orchestra for four years, Lisbeth relocated in 2011 to pursue a career with the Oregon Symphony and a West Coast life. 

Lisbeth is a graduate of the Catlin Gabel School and an alum of the Portland Youth Philharmonic and Community Music Center. She went on to earn Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from the Manhattan School of Music, a student of Burton Kaplan and Lucie Robert. 

She now happily resides in NW Portland with her husband, Assistant Principal Timpani and Percussionist Sergio Carreno, and Harry, their extraordinary terrier mix.
