German-Canadian cellist Johannes Moser, familiar to Oregon Symphony audiences from a string of highly acclaimed recent engagements as soloist, concludes his three-year residency during the 2021/22 Season. Johannes will return at the end of January to perform with the orchestra and to serve as the organization's ambassador-at-large, helping the Symphony share the joy of music with as wide and as diverse a population as possible.
In addition to his appearances on stage performing the World premiere commission of Robin Holloway's Cello Concerto, Johannes' activities for the 2021/22 Season includes community outreach events as well as many free public appearances.
Johannes regularly performs both traditional and experimental repertoire on instruments including traditional piano and cello, prepared piano and cello, toy piano, music box, and electric cello. His goals for his Oregon Symphony residency include finding ways to help young adults connect with classical music and performing in "unexpected places."
