Thousands of students each year benefit from immersive musical experiences with the Oregon Symphony, from in-school performances to field trips, master classes, and more. Our affordable programs integrate into your classroom curriculum and inspire students to continue learning and exploring music throughout their lives.
These concerts, performed in two locations (Portland and Salem), are geared toward students in grades 3-8. The theme and program are carefully aligned with school learning standards and are supported with a Teacher’s Guide, which is developed as preparation for concert attendance and provides further opportunities for musical, historical, and social studies exploration.
The Oregon Symphony is proud to present Link Up, a program of Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute. The hands-on music curriculum is designed for students in elementary school (grades 3-5) to explore orchestral repertoire. Students will sing, play, and move along with the orchestra in this interactive concert experience!
Give your students a one-of-a-kind musical experience with these captivating educational concerts! Join us as ensembles of Oregon Symphony musicians bring the Symphony off the stage and into schools across the Portland area, with some hilarious help from our narrator Pam Mahon.
The Oregon Symphony Prelude Performance Series offers school and community ensembles the opportunity to perform in the mezzanine lobby of the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall prior to Classical, Pops, Music for Families, and some Add-On concerts. Many of our patrons look forward to these glimpses into community music prior to the concerts and we invite you to be part of this program. We’re always looking for new ensembles to spotlight in our Prelude Performances!
