(PORTLAND, Ore.) — Three powerhouse performers of blues and soul will come together Mar. 15-17 for “Women in Blues,” a tour de force showcase presented by the Oregon Symphony that will feature some of the most unforgettable female voices in American popular music.
The trio of divas performing together at the concerts includes:
Three performances of “Women in Blues” are set for, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Mar. 15; 3 p.m. Sunday, Mar. 16; and 7:30 p.m. Monday, Mar. 17, in downtown Portland’s Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall. The Oregon Symphony does not perform at these concerts, which are part of the orchestra’s Pops series.
The three singers bring with them a string of accolades that includes LaVette’s W.C. Handy Award for Comeback Blues Album of the Year and Living Blues Award as Best Female Blues Artist; Ball’s 2007 Blues Music Award for Contemporary Blues Female Artist of the Year; and Copeland’s five W.C. Handy awards, five Living Blues awards and a Grammy nomination.

Ticket office hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
