Alex Addy & Woshishijee

Alex Addy is an Instructor, Musician and Dancer, specializing in West African rhythm and movement. He currently teaches dance and drumming workshops at several schools in the Portland area.

Alex’s father was one of the pioneers of bringing West African culture and music to America. Alex was constantly surrounded by the drumming, dancing, and singing that accompanied his father’s work. Through this upbringing, he learned about the power of music, drumming, and rhythms. Alex performed countless times alone and with his father and truly enjoys helping others learn about Ghana, West Africa and the music and dances created there.
