Strauss’ delightfully scandalous tale of insatiable lust bookends this dynamic program with Robert Schumann’s Fourth, one of the most impassioned symphonies of the Romantic era. James Gaffigan also leads the orchestra in music by two of the freshest voices in music today: Missy Mazzoli, “Brooklyn’s post-millennial Mozart” (Time Out NY), and Timo Andres, who also joins us as soloist in his Beethoven-inspired concerto.

R. Strauss: Don Juan
Timo Andres: The Blind Bannister
Missy Mazzoli: These Worlds in Us
R. Schumann: Symphony No. 4
