Open Music with Nathalie Joachim and Pekka Kuusisto

Hosted by Gabriel Kahane

Composer, musician and Oregon Symphony Creative Alliance member Nathalie Joachim joins renowned violinist Pekka Kuusisto on stage at the Alberta Rose Theatre. Joachim’s exquisite, deeply moving album Fanm D’ayiti (Women of Haiti) recently earned a Grammy nomination, and Kuusisto’s fresh approach to repertoire brings joy and beauty to everything he touches: whether it’s his idiosyncratic take on the Beethoven Violin Concerto or an improvisation on a Finnish folk-tune.

“To close the season, we have two of my favorite musicians and humans on the planet... Between the two of them, this concert just might make the Alberta Rose Theatre levitate.” - Gabriel Kahane
