Symphony in Technicolor
June 10, 12 & 13, 2027
Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto
Overview
Experience one of the most exhilarating, rapturous, and color-saturated journeys in all orchestral music: Scriabin’s life-affirming Poem of Ecstasy, paired with Tchaikovsky’s resplendent Violin Concerto featuring 2019 Queen Elisabeth Competition winner Stella Chen. Two pieces by Mussorgsky round out this technicolor program—the evocative sunrise over the Moscow River from the opera Khovanshchina, and the favorite Night on Bald Mountain, made famous by Disney’s classic Fantasia.
